Stirring the pot...

WWW
« on: December 31, 2009, 06:54:40 PM »

Once again, I have been requested / selected as the last choice / ________ for being Master of Ceremonies for this year's Ohio Valley Region Awards Banquet.  I humbly accept / was the last choice / will stay sober for / ________ this honor.  It is one of the few things I can do for the club that let's me contribute to / avoid running for BOD of / drives people away from / _______ OVR.

As usual, I am asking for your input / ignoring the thoughts of wiser people / seeking money /  ________ to develop a theme and ideas for the evening.

I expect that Vern and Larry Brown will give away another tool box / contract a social disease / finally give up on British junk / _____ and have their own little segment, and we will certainly have more door prizes than we can possibly give out, but that leaves almost 120 minutes for me to fill in.  And nobody wants that.

So, unless you want to hear me rehash the car jokes of past years, your ideas / misguided thoughts / women and liqour / _______ would be appreciated.

I have two questions regarding this event.

1) Reddy, do you plan to come to take pictures? If not, than anyone else has a plan to come and take photos? I would like to have banquet photos on our site after like 3-4 years or so.

2) Anyone has a plan to write something about it? Simi?

Zsolt,
OK, I will take photos. I believe that Bill might have some from the last year or two also.

write something about it... after or before?
do you mean like a recap of the events that took place?

Mary Jane may also have old banquet pix, usually she has taken pix for the OS.

yes, like a recap.
It would be nice to have something about it on the web for those who cannot make it.  Or for those who make it but drink too much... Smiley

me, me and... me.

I won the 24 Hours of Le Lewis Center, finished second in the Dakar Belly 2010 (xmas edition with xxl gravy), and in autocross I collected all of my rolled off lug nuts just under 50 seconds what was just enough to win my class in Beige Stock.

For Rallycross, Scott Johnson won the SA National Championship for the second year running.  Outside of that I don't think any locals did better than 2nd at a national event Cry

Sam Halkias won the Runoffs in E Prod and Nick Evans won the Runoffs in FE.  Kevin Ruck was just off the podium in E Prod in 4th.

I am sure there are some others in Solo, Rallycross, and Road Racing that had notable finishes.

What about workers?  Any workers get national recognition or do something special?

I think that was John Schmitt in 4th EP.  Didn't Kevin Ruck finish 5th in FP?

Corey Fergus qualified on the pole with a new track record and finished 2nd in Sports 2000

Patrick Gallagher qualified on the pole with a new track record and finished 2nd in F 500

Scott Rettich was 2nd in FE and 4th in SRF

Chad Gilsinger finished 4th in SSB

Iness Eisele was 5th in T3

Brian Baby usually takes group photos of the winners and should have some from past years as well. I would guess that he will take group photos this year as well.
