Whoa!

We purchased the bundle this year to make sure we'd get in.

Blytheville still has plenty of room!  I suspect Oscoda will also.

Just got my spot from the waitlist... then canceled.  Apparently I'm not an autocrosser anymore.  Anyway, if you get a spot it's because of me and you owe me.   Wink

Because Jerry.

Pretty much. I'm just a grossly underpaid construction worker these days.

Hope everyone has a good time... just don't post too much about it on Facetube and make me more depressed.

Now when you tell us not to do something, that's an invitation to do it more!

Quick Update on this event:

Saw a lot of OVR folks there but didn't get much of a chance to socialize.  Quick rundown and commentary:

B Street: Trevor Jones pulled out the win over Rachel Baker with an awesome 34.1 final run on the left. I ended up in 9th with times in the mid 35's after cones and mistakes punished me.  For most of the event, I was gridded with Ryan Niemic in his pimpy new Golf R. Ryan finished in 12th.

F Street:  Rich Verret co-drove Dan Sabol's Mustang GT to an 8th in F Street.

Super Street Rcomps:  Aaron and Simi Ritch battled it out in a class deep in talent, with 21 drivers competing.  Aaron finished 10th and Simi 19th.  I thought the variety of cars in the top 10 was interesting.  I also saw Jim Rauck there as he was registered in his Porsche GT3, but I didn't see him tin the results.

Street Touring X-treme: Kyle Herbst and Alan "Give Me Earplugs" Guy competed in their twins.  Kyle battled at or near the top of the charts in the 15 car class all weekend, finishing 3rd (looking at Sololive unofficial results).  Alan, in the meantime, spent his weekend battling sound, losing his Saturday afternoon runs due to exceeding it, and spent a good part of his weekend "Cooter-izing" his exhaust".  Alan finished 11th.

Street Touring Roadster: In the battle of the ragtops, Chad Freeman brought the Realspeed S2000 to front lines.   A tough and deep class.  Chad finished 21st.

Street Touring Unlimited: In a 350z, Devin Taylor co-drove drove Dennis Barrett's car to a strong 2nd place, just .1 out of the win!

D Street Prepared:  DSP had one of the strongest group of drivers in one class.  Vitamvas, Strano, Hurst, Schipkov, and our own Eric Campbell. Eric and co-driver Alex Schipkov finished 4th and 5th respectively after breaking the driveshaft on Sunday!  Can you say POWAH?

Street Modified Front Wheel Drive:  OVR was well represented by the Realspeed Civic, piloted by Jason Tipple and Nick Newcome. Jason was plagued by cones and red lights all weekend, while Nick had a great run, finishing 2nd just a tenth behind winner Chris Haydu who  runs just about the ugliest Civic out there. Jason's car made all 24 runs during the weekend without drama - keep this up, and we won't be able to tell jokes about jackstands any more!

Ladies 2: Kathy Grunenwald celebrated her wedding anniversary by standing in the hot sun all weekend and piloting the Corvette to a 7th place finish.  As has been the habit lately, she's fast out of the gates and then doesn't pick up too much more.  Guess we have to run more than once or twice to really compete.

The courses were great, especially for a car like our Corvette.  Very fast, reasonably open, and rewarded when you got them right, and punished when you didn't.   We had a great time, and are looking forward to a few weeks off after four big events in the past six weeks.  Son Andrew will be attending the OVR Driver's School in our Corvette, so that should be entertaining.

See you all soon!

Weekend was epic, while hot the breeze was nice and it stayed dry!
Much fun was had on those courses as well as just in general during the weekend.
I'm bummed that was the only pro we'll get to do this year.

Saturday morning runs were basically uneventful other than both the car and us sucking. In the afternoon, the clutch fried on Ryan's last run. I took my first run to see if letting it cool down and launching it gently could resolve the problem, but it didn't. So we did the only reasonable thing we could think of: threw the car on the trailer, drove home, picked up the rallycross car and went to the Detroit region rallycross event that was about 30 miles west of toledo on sunday.

Sorry I missed a few - I just did a quick scan on sololive.   I even talked to Alex, so no excuses there!
