Should be a great weekend!  Sadly, I'll be racing in Toledo...

Is the registration fee for the school, include entry for PE5?

Too bad the registration closes tomorrow for the school. I won't know if I can go for a couple of days yet.

I'm going to go on record - my favorite OVR event this year. Fantastic weather, fantastic course, great battles in a number of classes, and it was pretty awesome to see the CPD car running with full lights and sirens.

Thanks everyone that came out, helped out, and had fun playing with cars!

I agree with you 100% Jeff.  I loved the courses that Alex and Alan setup and everybody handled the mid-event course change very well.  It was awesome seeing a couple of police officers running a car.  Hopefully it convinced a few to bring their own cars out for the next event.

I wasn't there for sunday, but I think saturday might have been my favorite iteration of that course layout so far. I could have done without the last u-turn into the finish but it was good challenge for looking ahead and controlling corner entry speed. I think I've almost perfected my instruction method of letting the student somewhat plateau then taking a run in their car that's a complete dumpster fire of mistakes and overdriving but matches their fastest time, then ater seeing that their next run drops 2 seconds.

Hmmm, that does sound familiar Wink.

And hey, I actually beat some people on Sunday! That's a lot better than being 5 seconds from the next car above me.

I announced the first group, and really enjoyed the battle in SR.  I heard Buddy take off and then his transmission take a dump, and was sorry to see that.

Also, the SA cars were flying. I figured they would be strong launching out of the slow corners, but holy cow!

The Sunday even was my first in a loooong time.  Well run, and great people as always.  Was cool catching up with the old school OVR guys and making some new friends.  The gravel was an interesting normalizer...

Congrats to Brian taking PAX...smoking times from that guy!

I appreciate all the feedback from people on the course design. The last two events have basically been a variation on Eric's designs which made it easy for me to not screw it up Smiley

We are getting pretty limited on useable pavement out there, so everything ends up taking the same general flow.

That last turn on Saturday was absolutely awful. Ran out of good pavement, so had to make a pretty hard turn, or redesign most of the back section and I was running out of time. I did think it was good way to teach our student patience and that there are some corners you just can't make up time, only lose it, but it definitely wasn't very fun.

Thanks to everyone whose been chipping in on course setup and tear down, especially Devin, you've guys have really taken the load off of me and Alex in the morning and we very much appreciate it.

Also thanks to Conner for always being quick to respond to the timing issues. Despite a lot of wind gusts knocking the sensors around we still got through the day pretty well. We'll have a fix for that for the next event.

We were all drooling over your car when we saw it roll in. It's absolutely gorgeous!

I definitely did not help with anything course related, other than kicking a nut off the racing line.

But you also showed up to do nothing but help run tech, which is very, very much appreciated! I know you don't like running the Camaro at NTR, but if you wanna hop a ride in the FR-S, you are welcome too!

Or if you wanna set up course, you are also more than welcome to that too Tongue

I know the lot is in need of repairs. We had more gravel than rubber when I came back to grid. Couldn't get heat in the tires, except for the start. I think the front tires temps only raise about 2 or 3 psi, which usually is a lot more. Rear tires raised about 7 psi, which is still low.
The weather held off, although I thought the clouds were going to open up on the last heat.
Still was an awesome day, met some new faces, played with cars. Got to show everyone the new Honda, sitting still..LOL Have to wait til I get it wrapped before I even think about running it there. Plus, I didn't want Lori or Garrick(Hopefully I spelled you name right) kicking my ass too bad.

Greg/Lori, you need to update your signature.  It's missing "Bad Ass Type-R".

I might end up taking you up on that. Sadly I don't think the Camaro will ever make it back to that lot. Nothing to be gained by running it there and real potential for damage just make it not worth the hassle. I really don't enjoy scraping all the rocks off the tires and out of the wheel wells and interior either.
