As much as I hate writing these messages, we have decided to cancel our Point's Event scheduled this Saturday, April 7th. With snow in the forecast Friday night, and low temperatures all day Saturday, we're going to err on the side of safety for everyone involved.

We will close registration for this event. If you have already registered, please email ovrsolo@gmail.com to let us know if you would like a refund, or credit for a future event.

We hope to see everyone out at our next event on Saturday, April 14th: msreg.com/2018OVRPE3

while it's sad it's happened before - maybe 2013 season points event 1 was just cursed and we had to keep rescheduling it.

for sure numbers looked bad and people getting sick isn't the ideal.

Kathy and I ran an early season event in 1986 or so at Ft. Wayne Coliseum (Now Allen County War  Memorial Coliesum).  We left Columbus at 38 degrees on an early Sunday morning, and it was 33 when we got to Ft. Wayne, plus wind and snow flurries.  No fun whatsoever.

Good idea to cancel this one.

So nice to see that you've come out of hibernation, Brian!

I've missed your quick wit and sense of humor!

Wait, I was waiting for Rich to jump in with the "kids these days, when I started autocrossing we ran in the snow uphill both ways...."  Oh, never mind, maybe that was me.   Grin

Looks like the 1" of snow on the ground here in Pickerington made this a pretty clear no-brainer for us today.  Oh well.  Hopefully we have better luck next week.

There are always conflicting viewpoints and priorities. When I started out autocrossing almost 20 years ago, I ran every event I could fit in my schedule, regardless of weather. I remember one event in Cincinnati back in 2001 or 2002 where it was 25, and snowing hard enough that visibility was a problem at times. Good call on the cancellation, hope to enjoy events later in the season with warm weather (if it ever gets here)

Remember, you were my Driver's School Instructor back in '81, so that means you must be older than me.
